Since 1989, The Casbah has been San Diego’s premier launching pad for bands on the verge of breaking big. This legendary 200-capacity venue attributes its intimate size to its success—bands like Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins played here in their early days, and the tradition continues with today’s rising stars. The venue moved to its current plusher quarters in 1994, complete with an enclosed patio, back room with pool table and booths, and a full bar.
