Origin
Born and raised between Central Pennsylvania and the DMV, Welker spent years as a selector, host, and creative — noticing the same pattern in every good room: the moments that mattered weren't about the venue or the lineup, they were about who was in the room together.
The Insight
Creators struggle to find opportunities. Businesses struggle to reach the right audiences. Students struggle to build networks. People are more connected online than ever and more disconnected in real life than ever. A single platform could close all of those gaps at once — if it was built around community first.
The Build
Thrown After™ is the answer: a culture, community, media, and events platform where events are the tool and connection is the product. Marketplace, social discovery, creators, businesses, and the feed — all folded under one community.
The Stance
DJ Welker founded this — but Thrown After is not DJ Welker's website. It's a platform he started for everyone in Central PA and the DMV who deserves a better room to walk into. That's the whole point.
